Here’s a clip of Bruce Cadman putting on a funky off the cuff design on one of the bowls for this February’s Souper Supper hosted by the TideWater Art Gallery.

A Quick Sgaffito Demo

Here’s is a video that we made specifically for the TideWater’s 2010 Souper Supper.

This is meant to give new artists and customers alike get a feel for the pleasant monotony of throwing 120 bowls for a project like this. Most people don’t realize that it takes over 70 hours of work to create the bowls for each years event. WoW!!!

What an event! Over 250 local patrons of the Arts made a showing of support by arriving early to choose their bowls and mingle at this Gala event while awaiting the soups to be served. The wine flowed liberally and the music was smooth and swinging. This was the first year I could stay after dropping of my bowls for the feed, and it was a whole lot of fun! Walking across the banquet hall introducing myself and checking out who picked what bowl was an amusing way to pass the time. It was a Stockton who’s who and everyone was so supportive.

All I can say is “WoW!”

I want to thank all the ceramic artists who helped pull the load of getting 250+ bowls made in a month and a half.

A special Thanks to

Thanks everybody!

I’m aiming to hit the hoop this week. This was the third and final kiln load of bowls for the TideWater Souper Supper. It was a gas firing hosted by Delta Community College’s ceramic’s department.

Thanks’ Joe!

It’s been a long time since I’ve had to put a good amount of faith into student glazes. Any questions that were asked about the suggested application or behavior of any of the glazes were met with shrugs.”Eh?” Guess that’s par for the course. Love a challenge though. Here are six of 30.
